Voice & Data Technician
Technician conducts the following activities:
- Installs communications cabling while working from step ladders, extension ladders, high lifts, etc. Frequently, the Lead Technician must push or pull the cabling with their hands at a higher elevation than their heads.
- Installs modules on cabling while standing, sitting, kneeling or laying in a prone position.
- Uses a shovel to dig a trench or hole when required.
- Uses power tools such as hammer drills or rotary hammers while on step ladders, extension ladders, high lifts, etc.
- Pulls cabling from underground conduits or pushes cabling into underground conduits.
- Lifts boxes of cabling and other items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Participate in the installation, termination and testing of voice/data cabling, CATV cabling, CCTV cabling, optical fiber cabling under the supervision of an MCS Site Superintendent.
- Assume responsibility for completion of portions of the scope of work as assigned by the Site Superintendent and perform these required tasks wile overseeing other members of the crew.
- Operate basic and advanced power tools and powder actuated tools as required by the requirements of the project site under the supervision of an MCS Site Superintendent.
- Be technically and professionally capable of completing smaller projects on-time and within budget in a quality manner to the satisfaction of MCS’ customer.
- Report to the assigned jobsite with all required tooling.
Requirements
- Must be technically proficient in the installation, termination and testing of voice/data cabling, optical fiber cabling, CATV cabling, CCTV cabling and the installation of all required supporting structures.
- Must have tooling and reliable transportation.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a computer via email and other software programs such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio or AutoCAD is a plus, but is not mandatory.
- Knowledge of relevant industry specifications is a major benefit.
Project Manager
This Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management and staffing of assigned Federal & Commercial contracts for our Low Voltage, Orlando division. Several of the responsiblities of the position are:
- Responsible for reviewing and interpretting contract documents and/or SOW to ensure all parties involved are serviced correctly.
- Responsible for maximizing revenues, quality of service, growth, efficiency, and safety while minimizing costs and risk of loss.
- Forecasting, scheduling, and resource allocation for an Operations team of 65+.
- Planning, directing, and supervising team consisting of specialists with diverse training and skill sets including telecommunications switching, cabling, local and wide area networks, distribution systems design and deployment, computer hardware, operators, clerical, etc.
- Ensuring cost and schedule controls are adhered to and for maximizing production to ensure all contract requirements are met.
- May need to offer hands-on assistance to field technicians if the need arises. This work is both inside and outside environments.
- Site visits within a 50-mile radius is required on a regular basis.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree (preferred)
- PMP, PMI, CPM and/or RCDD Certification
- Previous 10+ years experience in the telecommunications/cabling/electrical industry.
- Ability to read and interpret legal contracts as well as government documents and contracts.
PROPOSAL TECHNICAL WRITER
- Review all existing corporate media to determine usability for future proposal and marketing efforts, including web, project content and written media.
- Write, edit, organize, format, and produce Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Sources Sought Notices to maintain current business and increase new business development.
- Respond to existing and new clients' requests for information and proposals.
- Assist in departmental efforts to develop new proposal and marketing materials.
- Responsible for supporting the company in responding to government and commercial customer requests for Proposal and other bidding opportunities and developing compliant and responsive technical responses.
- Create new and/or update content for management, past performance, quality control, and staffing sections of proposal response based on research.
- Write specific proposal sections based upon a standardized methodology and researched material.
- Edit all proposals and marketing material to ensure quality and deadlines are met.
- Interact with Subject-Matter Experts (SME’s) to ensure documentation accuracy and currency and participate in document reviews.
Requirements:
- Proven ability as a proposal technical writer/editor.
- Experience with using standard style manuals.
- Must possess strong computer skills utilizing current Microsoft Office Suite of software.
- BA/BS degree in English, Engineering, Marketing, Communication or other related field. At least 4 years of related experience.
- At least five (5) years of experience in providing technical writing support for Government proposals and contract deliverables.
- 1-2 years experience in design, layout, marketing, and proposal production is preferred.
- Experience with military and federal agency programs. Experience should be related to Technical Volume development and editing.
- Must possess or be able to obtain minimum of Secret security clearance
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Determine market strategies & goals for each product and service.

- Doing market research to determine customer needs & providing information to other staff .
- Evaluating product & service marketability in terms of customers’ technical & manufacturing needs.
- Following up on sales leads and making cold calls on potential customers.
- Establishing & maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales.
- Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.
- Assist Proposal team with developing sales and marketing proposals for customers on technical products & services.
- Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner by researching, developing & maintaining long & short range sales & marketing plans.
- Produce regular reports & final plans for the Manager’s approval.
- Maintain an up-to-date awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans.
- Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of newly developing technologies.
Requirements:
- A proven sales professional with strong background in Federal and Commercial IT and Communications Installation sales is needed.
- 2 yrs hands on communications or technical experience plus 3 yrs successful related sales OR 5+ yrs successful related sales.
- Knowledge of commercial, federal and government construction and service RFP and Bid process.
ELECTRICAL APPRENTICES
This is a Entry to Mid level Electrical position (1st – 4th year experience in a 4-year apprentice program). Work is performed in either Commercial Projects or the Work Order Service Electrical department. This person will assist as directed including but not limited to the installation of conduits, conductors, lighting fixtures, devices, switchgear, and other miscellaneous electrical equipment in new construction and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of safety regulations.
- Apprenticeship goals and skills attainment to include voltage drops, A/C current, electrical code.
- Must be able to read blue prints, pull wire and bend pipe.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must either have the means to obtain or already have own tools and must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work outdoors.
MCS pays the tuition and books for all employees who attend the IEC or FEAT Apprenticeship training programs in Tampa and Orlando.
HELPERS/LABORERS
This is a entry-level position with on-the-job training. Assist Installers and Technicians in the physical installation of structured cabling systems including but not limited to UTP, ScTP, optical fiber cabling, CCTV, CATV, security system wiring and all associated support structures. The work will be performed in new construction, renovation; in inside and outside environments. Participate in the installation of high-voltage electrical systems and associated support systems.
Requirements:
- This is an introductory position and technical experience is preferred but is not mandatory.
- Punctuality, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn are required in lieu of experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have reliable transportation and able to work outdoors.
CONTRACTS SPECIALIST
Responsible for negotiation, administration, and coordination of contractual obligations. Ensure assigned contract programs are formulated and administrated to the company's greatest possible advantage and that both parties comply with terms and conditions. Administer assigned contracts (Commercial, government, subcontracts) including execution, modification, property, facilities, claims correspondence, negotiation and closeout. Ability to read SOW and provide business advice and assistance to personnel involved in fulfilling the statement of work or data requirements to include review for adequacy and compliance with administrative, regulatory, and procedural requirements and consistency with current market practices and conditions.
Requirements:
- Previous Commercial and Federal contracts experience.
- Overall knowledge of local, state and federal contracts regulations, constructions regulations, labor law regulations.
- Ability to read and understand contract legal ease.
- BA/BS degree with a focus in the legal sector preferred but not necessary.
NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
We are currently seeking an experienced Network Administrator for a contract at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.
Requirements:
- Must be familiar with Systems administration and client support.
- Experience with Cisco routing and switching equipment.
- Experience with Windows active directory and operating system.
- Ability to troubleshoot DNS and back-up networks.
- Must have a current Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Journeyman or 4-year Electrician (Orlando & Jacksonville)
Responsible for the planning, layout, installation and repair of a variety of complex electrical equipment. Installation of conduits, conductors, EMT, PVC, Rigid, wire pulling, bending pipe, change and/or replacing electrical panels & transformers, change lamps & ballast in fixtures, devices, switchgear, and other miscellaneous electrical equipment in new construction and maintenance.
As a Journeyman will be responsible for the direct supervision of those working at the job site.
Requirements
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position and able to work in outdoor environments.

Low Volt Site Superintendent (Orlando)
Supervise and participate in the planning, layout, installation and repair of a variety of complex electrical equipment. Responsible for the direct supervision and production of employees at the job site(s) and the coordination and delivery of materials and tooling required to ensure the timely completion of the project scope of work to which assigned.
Requirements
- 6-9 years Industry experience and Supervisory experience running a crew.
- Knowledge of correct and safe use of ladders, basic and advanced power tools.
- Ability to read blue prints and forecast materials needed and estimate time frames for work completion.
